Help us to Promote Immigration and Refugee Policies that Advance Human Dignity

Support the Center for Migration Studies (CMS)

The Present Situation: 2019 has been a difficult year for immigrants and refugees. The administration issued a “public charge” rule that would significantly reduce legal immigration, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is at risk of being terminated, and the president has set a cap to admit the lowest number of refugees in the 40-year history of this program.

Our Work: Thanks to your support, CMS has carried out its important work as a think tank and educational institute devoted to the study of international migration, to the promotion of understanding between immigrants and receiving communities, and to public policies that safeguard the dignity and rights of migrants, refugees and newcomers. It has hosted numerous strategic events, published world-class research and leading publications, and continued to build a community of scholars, researchers, policymakers, faith-based organizations (FBOs) and community-based institutions devoted to rights-respecting, evidence-based immigration and refugee policies. In particular, it:

  • Hosted and organized five events with more than 700 participants on topics such as “Forced Migration, Protection, and Border Control,” the work of FBOs in meeting the needs of immigrant and refugee communities, and our country’s last large-scale legalization program.
  • Published research on the DACA program, the effects of immigration enforcement on families, and the importance of immigrants advancing in status to naturalization.
  • Interviewed migration experts for the podcast CMSOnAir on topics such as the refugee experience, border communities, and diminishing legal avenues for asylum-seekers.

How you can support CMS: As we prepare for the new year, we are hopeful that together we can promote greater respect for migrants and refugees. We invite you to consider making a year-end, tax-deductible donation today to help strengthen this important work. Your tax-deductible contribution will allow CMS to continue its critical work. Until December 31, every dollar you donate will be matched, 1:1, thanks to a generous donor.

On behalf of CMS, we thank you in advance for your support and wish you a blessed and joyful holiday season.
